Golfer Spotlight: Scottie Scheffler

Kicking off a new thread of putting golfers in the spotlight, who better to start with than the world’s #1 ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler?

Ever since winning the WM Phoenix Open in 2022 for his first career PGA Tour victory, this man has been unstoppable. He wont 4 times that year, including the Masters after beating Rory McIlroy in Augusta to claim his first major championship. This would already be a career more impressive than the majority of golfers, but he is only getting warmed up.

2023 saw him defend his Waste Management title and win the Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach Florida, one of the best tourneys on tour with that island par 3 on hole 17 always creating memories. This seemed like a slow year considering all the success he has had, something all the great ones do is make winning look easy, and whenever they don’t win it’s a shock to the rest of the golf world.

2024 Scottie reclaimed the top spot at the Arnold Palmer Invitational that he also won in 2022, defend his title at the Players, and win his 2nd Masters jacket in 3 years. Its safe to say that this guy isn’t going anywhere soon – oh and he immediately followed up his Masters win with a win at the RBC Heritage tournament in Hilton Head.

So far in 2025, Mr. Scheffler has 3 victories, with the big one being his 3rd major when he won by 5 strokes at the PGA Championship. He fell short at the U.S. open and is looking to claiming his first Open championship and getting one step closer to the career grand slam next month.

In the last 40 months, Scottie has more wins that Jordan Spieth’s career, more top 3 finishes than Jason Day’s entire career, more major wins that Dustin Johnson’s entire career, and more career earnings than Phil Mickelson has in his career.

We haven’t seen a golfer this good since Tiger – but don’t get it twisted he has more than a long way to go before catching the goat. He has yet to miss a cut this year, has 10 top finishes, and near the top of most statistical categories (such as 5th in birdies, 5th in greens in regulation, 1st in strokes gained, etc.).

Whether you like him or hate him, get used to him and his crazy feet. This man knows how to golf and he won’t stop winning tournaments anytime soon.
