2025 Golf Season (so far…)

Welcome back golf fans! The 2025 golf season is in full swing with the first major of the year coming up in less than 2 weeks! As we come back from a little pause, here is what you might have missed…

14 tournaments are in the book this season, and in summary: Hideki Matsuyama took the opener, Rory won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Players Championship. Thomas Detry won the fan favorite WM Phoenix Open, Ludvig Averg took the Genesis (relocated to Torrey Pines due to the California wildfires). Russell Henley conquered the Arnold Palmer, and last week Min Woo Lee got his first PGA win at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Needless to say it’s been a fantastic start to the golf season! While we still await a resolution to the PGA/LIV situation – which I wouldn’t hold your breath as discussions have been ongoing for quite some time now…we are only a few days away from the tournament of all golf tournaments – the MASTERS! World #1 Scottie Scheffler will look to defend his win last year while Rory and others look to steal the show. It is sure to be some must watch golf, so unless you plan on getting out there to play yourself, make sure you put some time on the calendar to plop on the couch and get ready for hours and hours of golf.

Of course it isn’t all good news, as Tiger Wood’s season ended before it could even begin, having surgery on his Achilles tendon. Of course Tiger has played sparingly over the last few years, it was all of our hopes that we could see him play a few times this year. Unfortunately, that will now have to wait.

On the flip side, the daylight savings issue that plagues golfers has been lifted, as the sun is now setting later allowing us all to get in that afternoon tee time!

Buckle up golfers, we’re in for a great major season (plus the Ryder Cup!), and great golf season overall!
